Regular CVC members fullfill minimal requirements of a venia docendi, a completed IKV (internal career track contract) or equivalent (e.g. recruitment at professorial level). The candidate has at least a 50% contract at the MedUni Vienna, works in any clinical/theoretical field of cardiovascular research and has published peer-reviewed original scientific research articles as either first, corresponding or last (senior) author over the past 3 years.
6 regular members (3 and 3 for the preclinical and clinical fields, respectively) form after election the steering committee for two years.
Any individual who has a PhD or an equivalent scientific degree (such as Dr. scient. med.) qualifies as associate CVC member. Furthermore, MDs, M.Sc. or other diploma degrees who have been actively enrolled in a MedUni Vienna doctoral program for at least two years or have a first authorship in a peer-reviewed publication in the field of cardiovascular research may qualify as an associate CVC member. Associate members shall elect one associate member for the position of a non-voting member in the SC.
Application for regular/associate membership is open throughout the year (by self-nomination).
The SC decides on the acceptance of regular/associate members.
