Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death world-wide. It is also the leading cause of hospital admissions and of physical disability and a major cost burden in health care.
Diagnosis, treatment and research endeavors focusing on these disorders therefore require close collaboration across medical specialties. The Cardiovascular Cluster is a multidisciplinary research structure which aims to facilitate synergies between basic and clinical investigators that span the spectrum of cardiovascular research.
This year’s Annual Meeting of the Cardiovascular Cluster will be held on 11th of November in the Van Swieten Hall of the Medical University of Vienna.
We have been able to attract the following guest speakers:
- Axel BAUER - „The future of arrhythmia diagnostics”
MedUni Innsbruck, Austria - Alexander BRILL - „How inflammation drives thrombosis”
Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom - Senka LJUBOJEVIC-HOLZER - „Calcium signaling in cardiomyopathy”
Division of Cardiology, MedUni Graz, Austria - Christoph MAACK - „Mitochondrial redox regulation in heart failure“
